This article will walk you through how to select a target job title by exploring career areas. Once selected, you will be able to assess your skill gaps and generate a learning pathway for this job title.
What are career areas?
Career areas are similar to industries (i.e. Information Technology, Finance, Hospitality).
To search for target job title using career areas
Once you have selected explore career options in Explore new possibilities, select choose career area and a list of career areas will appear.
Select one career area from the drop-down list, after which all of the job titles associated with that career area will appear below.
You will also be able to search for a specific job title by using the Find by keyword search bar.
Select your preferred job title by clicking on the job title card.
You will now be directed to the skills gap analysis page, where you can add or remove skills for your selected target job. Hover your mouse over a skill:
Select to add the selected skill.
Select to remove the selected skill.
Select Save to complete the process of adding a new target job title.
Understanding “Most in-demand jobs” and “Highest skills match”
When you have selected a career area, you will be able to filter the job titles based on Most in-demand jobs and Highest skills match. Simply select the filter that you prefer when you are browsing through the job titles.
Most in-demand jobs
With this option, all of the job titles shown will be sorted with the job title that has the most job postings at the top.
Highest skills match
With this option, the list of job titles shown will be sorted with the job title that is the closest match to your skills at the top.
