Using ZilLearn Skills in ZilLearn App

In ZilLearn App, you will be able to use a feature called ZilLearn Skills to help you to identify courses that you can take in ZilLearn to bridge your skill gaps. 


​With ZilLearn Skills, you will be able to select your preferred career aspiration, be it your current role, or a new role that you are interested in. It will then identify the skill gaps required to achieve their next career milestones. After identifying your skill gaps, you can then browse through courses available in ZilLearn in order to close these skill gaps.

You can also use ZilLearn Skills via web browser. Refer to this link to learn more about it. 


Accessing ZilLearn Skills in ZilLearn App for the first time

  1. Once you are logged in into the ZilLearn app, select icon , located at the bottom menu.


  1. You will then be redirected to a screen where you can input your first and last name. Fill in your name, and select Get Started.


  1. Once you have filled in your name, you will be able to select a target job via 2 different methods:

  1. Explore career options - this allows you to explore jobs in a specific career area/industry (i.e. Information Technology, Finance, Hospitality) that you are interested in.

  2. Search for a specific job - this allows you to search for a specific job that you have in mind.


  1. Select your preferred option.



Searching for target job using career areas

  1. After selecting Explore career options, select one of the career options from the list shown. All of the job titles associated with that career area will appear below. 


  1. On each job card, you will be able to see the number of job postings, which indicates the unique job positions available for that particular job title posted by employers.


  1. Select your preferred job title by clicking on the job title card.

    1. Alternatively, you can also search for a specific job title by using the Find by keyword search bar.


Searching for specific job target

  1. After selecting Search for specific job,  you can search for a specific job title by using the search bar and selecting . All of the job titles related to your search term will appear.


  1. On each job card, you will be able to see the number of job postings, which indicates the unique job positions available for that particular job title posted by employers.


  1. Select your preferred job title by clicking on the job title card.



Using Skills Gap Analysis

After you have selected a target job, you will be directed to the Skill Gap Analysis page. This page will show the most frequently requested skills for the specific target job that you have selected.


These skills have been identified as the most in-demand based on recent job market data in Singapore, such as job postings in Singapore, and it is updated regularly to ensure that the skills are up-to-date and relevant. 


Baseline skills are common, non-specific skills that can be applied across different target jobs. Some examples of baseline skills are:

  • Communication

  • Problem-solving

  • Teamwork/collaboration


Specialized skills are specific skills, knowledge, or proficiencies that are particular to the specific target job. Some examples of specialised skills are:

  • Quality Assurance and Control

  • Budgeting

  • Change Management


To remove or add skills:

  1. You can add all of the skills that you already have by tapping on each skill button. Once you have added the desired skills, the skills added will turn blue. 

  2. Similarly, you can also remove a skill by tapping on the desired skill. 

  3. After you have selected all of the relevant skills, select Save on the top right-hand corner of the page. 

  1. You can then browse through ZilLearn courses to bridge your skill gaps to your desired target job.



Browsing for Courses 

Once you have done your skills gap analysis, you can view courses available in ZilLearn to bridge your skills gap. 


To browse for courses: 

  1. Once you have completed your skills gap analysis, select View courses.

  1. Alternatively, you can also browse courses for the target jobs that you have generated previously. On the ZilLearn Skills menu, select View courses on the selected target job.

  1. All of the recommended courses based on your skills gap will be shown. In each course tile, you will also see all of the skills that this course covers.  

  2. Once you select on a course tile, you will be brought to a course intro page, where you can learn more about the course and purchase the course. Browse through this FAQ page to learn more about making a purchase on ZilLearn.

  1. Additionally, if you already have a ZilLearn Plus subscription, you can select Start Learning to view the course content.


Other FAQs:

Can I have more than one job target?

Yes, you will be able to add multiple job targets. To explore more job targets:

  1. On the ZilLearn Skills menu, select Explore.

  1. You can then explore target job in 2 different ways:

    1. Explore career options - this allows you to explore jobs in a specific career area/industry (i.e. Information Technology, Finance, Hospitality) that you are interested in.

    2. Search for a specific job - this allows you to search for a specific job that you have in mind.

  1. Select explore career options or search for a specific job.


Will my skills be automatically updated once I have completed a course? OR How do I update my skills?

Currently, you will need to update your skills manually. To update your skills:

  1. In ZilLearn Skills menu, select Update Skills on the target job that you want to update.



  1. You will then be redirected to the Skill Gap Analysis page. 

  2. Tap on the skill that you want to add, and that particular skill button will turn blue.

  3. Similarly, you can also remove a skill by tapping on the desired skill. 

  4. Select Save on the top right hand corner of the page to save your changes.


I am using ZilLearn Skills in both ZilLearn app and web browser, will my progress be synced?

Rest assured that your progress in both ZilLearn app and web browser will be synced.
