ZilLearn has a set of guidelines that must be met for Courses to be allowed on the Platform. Every Course must:
Teach on an acceptable topic: ZilLearn welcomes Course Creators to share your knowledge on the Platform, be it for the purpose of workforce training or personal development. Please refer to our Restricted Course Topics Policy to see the topics that are not allowed on the Platform.
Use an appropriate cover image: Good-quality, topic-appropriate cover images can help boost your Course viewership by emphasizing the professionalism and quality of your Course. Avoid using low resolution or cluttered images for your Course cover image.
Use an appropriate title: Specific, realistic, and topic-appropriate Course can help Learners see the relevance of your Course quickly. Avoid using a title that is too generic as Learners may not understand the purpose of your Course. Likewise, avoid using a title that over-promises as Learners may perceive your Course to be scammy.
Limit self-advertising: We understand that teaching online is a great way for Course Creators to build your brand, grow your following and be more visible online. As such, we encourage Course Creators to share your Channels and Courses with Users. However, in order to ensure an optimal learning experience for Learners enrolled in your Courses, please limit self-promotion within any of your Courses to the first and/or last activity.
In addition, every Onsite Course and Webinar must:
We strongly recommend that every Course, also:
Be coherently structured: Learning is more effective when Learners understand how they will progress on to each stage of learning. Courses should be organized meaningfully based on lesson plans or outlines in order to achieve pedagogical outcomes.
Promote meaningful learning: Any form of knowledge sharing for the purpose of workforce learning and personal development is encouraged on the Platform. Courses that promote unrealistic outcomes or methods of success (for instance, get-rich-quick schemes) are not allowed on the Platform.
We strongly recommend that every Online Course, especially an “Open to All” Course, also:
Include an overview video: Including an introductory video makes it easier for Learners to understand what to expect from the Course. It is also a great way for Course Creators to introduce yourselves to Learners, establish credibility and create a sense of professionalism.
Use good-quality audio and video: Research has shown that Learners care greatly about audio and video quality as it helps them focus on learning. For audio files, avoid background noises, crackling or popping noises, and echoes. For video files, use high resolution recordings with good lighting and framing.
Our moderators will review each new Course provided on the Platform. If we find that your Course violates any part of our Terms and Policies, especially our Trust and Safety Policy, it will not be viewable by Learners or accessible to them.
Depending on the nature of the violation, you may be permitted to amend your Course and resubmit for review. On review, if your Course no longer violates any part of our Terms and Policies, including our Trust and Safety Policy, it will be visible and accessible to Learners again.
We may remove any Courses with violations after sixty (60) days if no amendment has been made.
