Slide Creation - Creator FAQ

When using the Slide Integration tool, a small section of your top right slide will be blocked as the video will appear on the slide, as shown in the picture below.


This article will walk you through how to create a good slide to ensure that your lesson content will be displayed properly via:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Google Slide

Creating my lesson slide via Microsoft PowerPoint:

  1. Ensure that the slide size that you are using is in Widescreen (16:9). To check: 

    1. Select Design in the menu ribbon.

    2. Select Slide Size.

    3. Select Widescreen (16:9).


  1. Place a video placeholder on the top right-hand corner of your slide to ensure that your content will not be blocked. You can do this by: 

    1. Select Insert in the menu ribbon.

    2. Select Shape, and choose Rectangle shape.

    3. Right click on the shape, and select Format Shape.

    4. Under the Shape Options, select

    5. Follow the following Size and Position format.


                     


  1. The video placeholder should look something like this:


  1. Delete the video box once you have finished creating your lesson slide.



Creating my lesson slide via Google Slide:

  1. Ensure that the slide size that you are using is in Widescreen (16:9). To check: 

    1. Select File in the menu ribbon.

    2. Select Page Setup.

    3. Select Widescreen (16:9).


  1. Place a video placeholder on the top right-hand corner of your slide to ensure that your content will not be blocked. To do this: 

    1. Select Insert in the menu ribbon.

    2. Select Shape, and choose Rectangle shape.

    3. Right click on the shape, and select Format Options.

    4. Follow the following Size & Rotation and Position format.


  1. The video placeholder should look something like this:


  1. Delete the video box once you have finished creating your lesson slide.


  1. When you have finished creating your slide in Google Slide, download it as a Microsoft PowerPoint file before uploading to ZilLearn platform.


Additional Note:

Please note the following additional information when creating your lesson slide:

  1. Some fonts are not compatible with our platform, please use one of the following fonts when creating your lesson slide:

    1. Arial, Bell MT, Bodoni MT, Calibri, Cambria, Candara, Century Gothic, Comic Sans, Constantia, Corbel, Franklin Gothic, Garamond, Georgia, Gill Sans MT, Open Sans, Palatino, Linotype, Papyrus, Roboto, Rockwell, Segoe, Tahoma, Times New Romans, Verdana.


  1. For diagrams, the shapes may shift positions after the slide is uploaded to our platform. Please avoid drawing diagrams in the slide, and try inserting them as an image file instead (i.e. screenshot the diagram).


  1. When a word is highlighted, all of the words that come after that particular word will be highlighted too. It is advisable to use other functions, such as using different font colours,  bolding or underlining the words instead.


  1. Animations WILL NOT be reflected.
